When you ask for the walking guide
You give me your email address, and your first name if you like, and the site emails you a link to The Walk. The email comes from [email protected] and is sent through Cloudflare’s email service. Your request is saved on this site so I can see that it went through.
Your email address and first name also go to Kit, the service I use to send my emails (Kit’s privacy policy: kit.com/privacy). After the walking guide, I’ll send you my emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask me to delete your details at any time.
When you use the contact form
Your name, email address, and message come to me by email so I can reply. I don’t add you to any list.
Keeping out spam
The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It looks at your browser and connection, not who you are, and sets no tracking cookies. Cloudflare’s privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find the site: pages visited, the site you came from, your approximate location, and your device and browser. It sets cookies to do this. I see totals, not who you are. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on or your browser’s privacy settings.
Links to Amazon
The book’s buttons go to Amazon with an affiliate tag, so The Write Practice earns a small commission if you buy. Amazon sees that you came from here; this site sees nothing about your purchase.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted by Liquid Web and protected by Cloudflare. Like every website, their servers see your IP address and keep standard logs to keep the site running and secure.
What I don’t do
I don’t sell or share your information, and there are no ads on this site.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the emails at any time, and you can email [email protected] to see, correct, or delete what I have about you.
